Photos: The Peanut Featuring The Chestnuts
These photos were taken by Melvin last Saturday out on our porch. Avery’s godfather in spirit, my Uncle Georgie, was over for a visit.
The chestnuts on the ground? They’re as useless as useless can be. When I first discovered that the tree in the side of our house was a chestnut tree, I was ecstatic! I thought, wow, in case of the very worst case scenario, our family will have something to eat.
My mom was thrilled too because she claims that chestnuts are a favorite of hers growing up in the Philippines. She simply could not wait to eat them. Well, she gave a lot away to family and friends before she got a chance to taste them and the verdict: they are crap. She still blames me to this day for ruining her reputation. Well, at least someone has some use for them.
In other news, Avery is still very much in love with his binky.
